Jill Peltzman earned her BFA at Cornell University, has since travelled widely and worked as a photojournalist, portrait photographer, art director, and web designer. Her images are influenced by a love of painting and drawing and a fascination with the push-pull between abstraction and reality. She has explored these themes using a wide variety of techniques: traditional black and white printing, infrared film and hand-coloring with photo oils, and digital manipulation. She is also passionate about creating portraits, and aims to depict not only a hint of the inner life of her subjects, but their connection with the photographer as well.

Jill's images have been published by the Associated Press, Finger Lakes Magazine, and the New York Times among others, and have graced many CD and book covers. She has served on the board of directors of the Camera Club of New York and has exhibited her work in the U.S. and Europe.
