Isobel Restaurant & Bar, a French Mediterranean Bistro, was built from a 150 year-old barn salvaged from Ithaca, NY. The owners, and , both graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, in 1988. The barn was salvaged in 1999 and shipped to NYC that spring. It was milled in Ben's woodshop in DUMBO and turned into the tables, floor, bar, mirror frames, doors, and shelves that appear throughout the space. The interior styling was created by (Ben's wife) and . The restaurant is named after Jane and Ben's daughter, . Jane, Ben and Isobel live in Brooklyn Heights. Kevin lives in Manhattan with his wife, .

A love for food, wine, and woodworking are the driving forces behind this entire project.
